Jeddah, Jan 12 (V7N) — Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Md. Towhid Hussain, held a bilateral meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of an emergency session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday (January 11).
In a statement, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that both sides expressed satisfaction over the current state of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
During the discussion, the two leaders emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation in various areas, including high-level visits, trade expansion, and educational collaboration. They also exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest.
Earlier, on January 4, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry had confirmed that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Towhid Hussain, reflecting continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
