Feb 16 (V7N) - Commerce Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin today said he never compromised on ethical standards during his tenure at the Ministry of Commerce.
He made the remarks at a farewell reception accorded to him by the Ministry of Commerce at the ministry, according to a press release.
Addressing officials, Bashir said he had joined the ministry with an extremely negative perception about its internal culture but was leaving with deep gratitude. Encouraging cooperation with the incoming commerce minister, he said effective leadership requires mutual support and open dialogue, adding that officials should communicate their views respectfully even in disagreement.
Reiterating his stance on integrity, Bashir said he worked for Bangladesh and future generations without compromising on ethical issues and acknowledged that the collective efforts of all wings and departments under the ministry helped him carry out his responsibilities successfully.
The farewell function was chaired by Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman and attended by senior officials and heads of various departments and agencies under the ministry.
