Dhaka, Feb 17 (V7N) — A total of 49 full ministers and state ministers have been called to join the cabinet of the new government led by Tarique Rahman, with the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 4 pm on Tuesday at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building.

Earlier in the day, the elected members of parliament from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) took oath at around 10:45 am at the parliament’s oath-taking chamber. The new administration is being formed under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, who is set to assume office as the country’s 11th Prime Minister. Representatives from several countries have already arrived to attend the ceremony.

The list of state ministers includes M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Anindya Islam Amit, Shariful Alam, Farhad Hossain Azad, Shama Obaid, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin, Habibur Rashid Habib, Rajib Ahsan, Azizul Bari Helal, Mir Shahe Alam, Jonayed Saki, Ishraq Hossain, Farzana Sharmin Putul, Faridul Islam, Nurul Haque Nur, Yaser Khan Chowdhury, M Iqbal Hossain, MA Muhith, Ahmed Sohel Manzur, Bobby Hajjaj, Ali Newaz Khayyam, and technocrat Aminul Haque.

Formation of a 50-Member Cabinet

With the Prime Minister included, the new administration will consist of a 50-member cabinet. Officials say the team combines senior political figures, emerging leaders, and technocrats, reflecting the party’s governance strategy as it begins its new term in office.

The official gazette and portfolio distribution are expected to be announced following the oath-taking ceremony.
