Dhaka, Feb 17 (V7N) — Tarique Rahman, Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, has been sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The oath was administered by Md. Shahabuddin at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban after 4 pm on Tuesday.
The swearing-in ceremony began with the national anthem and recitation from the Holy Quran. Following his oath as Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman took the oath of secrecy and signed it immediately.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was accompanied by his wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter ZaIma Rahman.
The ceremony was conducted by Nasimul Ghani and attended by Dr. Muhammad Yunus. At least 1,000 domestic and foreign dignitaries were present to witness the historic event.
This marks the official beginning of the new BNP-led government following the 13th National Parliament elections, with a 50-member cabinet taking office under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
