DHAKA, Feb 17, (V7N) – Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today called on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban following the swearing-in ceremony of Bangladesh’s new government.Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Md Riaz Hamidullah shared the update on X, noting that the Indian Speaker conveyed warm wishes from India and extended an invitation for Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to visit India.

In response, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman sent his greetings to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed optimism about further strengthening people-centric cooperation between Bangladesh and India.The two leaders expressed their commitment to working together for the welfare of their peoples, pursuing a collaborative, people-focused agenda, according to the Bangladesh envoy.Earlier, a high-level Indian delegation led by Om Birla arrived in Dhaka to attend the oath-taking ceremony, symbolizing the enduring friendship between the neighbouring countries and reaffirming India’s dedication to shared democratic values.
