Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N)- Land Minister Mizanur Rahman has expressed his commitment to working collectively to address the longstanding challenges within the Land Ministry, pledging to eliminate the culture of bribery and corruption associated with the sector.

The minister made the remarks on Tuesday morning after visiting the Citizen Care Center and Call Center at Tejgaon Bhumi Bhaban in the capital.

Commitment to Change Perception

Speaking to officials, Mizanur Rahman said he aims to change the negative perception that has surrounded the ministry for years. He emphasised the importance of skilled manpower and institutional reforms to ensure land-related services reach citizens efficiently at their doorsteps.

Zero Tolerance Against Irregularities

Meanwhile, the State Minister for Land said the ministry had become controversial over the past 17 years, both domestically and internationally, due to allegations of irregularities. He stressed that the current administration will adopt a strict zero-tolerance policy against bribery, corruption and malpractice.

Officials believe the renewed focus on transparency, digital services and accountability measures could play a key role in restoring public confidence in land administration if implemented effectively.
