Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N)- The government has appointed Md. Ali Hossain Fakir as the new Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP), according to a notification issued by the Home Ministry on Tuesday.
Ali Hossain Fakir, previously serving as Additional IGP and head of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN), is a member of the 15th batch of the BCS (Police) cadre. His home district is Bagerhat.
He succeeds Baharul Alam, who has been relieved from the post.
The appointment comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement and ensure professionalism and accountability within the police force.
