On Wednesday, the district appropriately marked the historic Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation.

After more than nine and a half months of imprisonment in a Pakistani jail, Bangabandhu returned to an independent and sovereign Bangladesh on January 10, 1972.

Awami League (AL) district units in Pabna and its affiliated groups celebrated Homecoming Day with various events.

In observance of the Day, party officials and employees raised the party and national flags over the party headquarters and positioned floral garlands before the Bangabandhu image this morning.

This afternoon, a conversation about the life and contributions of Bangabandhu to the freedom of the country was held at the party headquarters.

Leaders from the district Awami League, district Jubo League, district Chhatra League, district Mohila Awami League, district Sramik League, and district Jubo Mohila Awami League were among those in attendance, along with Pabna Municipal Mayor Sharif Uddin Prodhan.

In addition, other events were held to commemorate the day by Pabna Zilla Parishad, Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST), and other educational establishments.
