Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina appealed to Beijing for cooperation in furthering the development of Bangladesh's southern region during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen at her official residence Ganabhaban.
According to PM's Speech Writer Md Nazrul Islam, Sheikh Hasina emphasized the importance of supporting the development of the southern region, especially considering the establishment of direct road communication through the Padma Bridge.
