Mujibnagar Day is observed historically on Wednesday, April 17. The ancient Mujibnagar in Bangladesh's Meherpur district serves as the focal point for the celebration of the day. To commemorate the day centrally this year, the district administration and the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs have organised a daylong programme.
Wednesday morning at six a.m., the national flag was ceremoniously raised at Mujibnagar Memorial, marking the auspicious beginning of Mujibnagar Day on April 17.
 
Alongside Mujibnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Khairul Islam, Ansar VDP members, police officials, and Mujibnagar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ujjal Dutta hoisted the national flag. After the flag was hoisted, prayers were given for the brave warriors' souls and the father of the country, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was remembered with a minute of silence.
 
Additionally, on behalf of the Bangladesh Awami League Central Committee, he will give a book at the Mujibnagar Memorial on Mujibnagar Day at 9 am and offer floral tributes. Following that, the memorial will be graced with floral tributes from the leaders of the main political parties.
 
In addition, floral garlands will be presented by the Meherpur District Awami League, Zilla Parishad, Zilla Jubo League, and other party officials and workers.
 
Kazi Zafarullah, a member of the Awami League praesidium, will be the main guest at the planned event. A.K.M. Mozammel Haque MP, Minister of Liberation War; Farhad Hossain MP; Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif MP, Joint General Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League; Simin Hossain Rimi, State Minister, Ministry of Women and Child Affairs; A.H.M. Khairuzzaman (Litton), Mayor, Rajshahi City Corporation; and Dr. Syeda Zakia Noor (Lippi) MP will be in attendance as special guests. The ceremony will be supervised by AFM Bahauddin Nasim MP, the Bangladesh Awami League's organising secretary.
