The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will have a road and park in the capital named in his honour. He is expected to visit Bangladesh on April 22–23.

The schedule states that on April 23 at 3 p.m., the Emir would officially open the park in the Kalshi area of Mirpur, which is managed by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), as well as the road that connects Kalshi Flyover to Mirpur ECB Chattar.

According to DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam, Qatar has always been one of Bangladesh's closest and friendliest allies. Following Bangladesh's independence, the two nations had excellent connections, and he said, "a park and a road will be named after the Emir of Qatar to mark his memorable visit."

The mayor of DNCC mentioned that there is a road in the city's Banani neighbourhood named after Kemal Ataturk, who is considered the father of modern Turkey. "There is also a road after the name of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Turkey," he stated.

Atiqul said during a rally on February 19 of last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina promised to build a park and a playground in the Kalshi area. According to him, she offered the locals in the Kalshi region 16 bighas of land as a gift for the park and playground.

at addition to providing room for youth training and sports like football and cricket at the park, DNCC CEO Mir Khairul Alam said that there would also be a designated area for strolling and a kid's area.

On April 22, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, will be here on a two-day state visit.
