According to a new report from the United States, Bangladesh experienced no significant changes in its human rights situation in 2023.

The report, known as the 2023 Human Rights Report (HRR), does not rank countries but provides factual information on human rights worldwide. It highlights widespread impunity for human rights abuses in Bangladesh, with the government often failing to take credible steps to address them. The HRR covers 198 countries and territories, offering detailed insights into human rights abuses and violations.

These reports serve as important references for governments, advocates, journalists, and others concerned about human rights and democracy. The US Embassy in Dhaka emphasized the report's objectivity and its role in informing foreign policy decisions, assisting Congress, and supporting civil society and human rights defenders globally.
