Amid the ongoing heatwave, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) is contemplating a shift to online classes for all educational institutions instead of extending the current holidays. With the vacation scheduled to conclude on Saturday, the DSHE is evaluating options to ensure syllabus completion while safeguarding students' well-being.

As of now, no definitive decision has been reached regarding whether the holidays will be extended or if classes will resume as usual. Professor Syed Zafar Ali, Director of DSHE, stated that if the heatwave persists, they are considering the possibility of conducting online classes or assigning assignments to keep students engaged in their studies. However, no final decision has been made regarding the implementation of online classes.

Shah Rezwan Hayat, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education, echoed similar sentiments, mentioning that discussions will take place on Friday to determine whether classes will resume from the following Sunday or if the holiday period will be extended. The decision will be announced subsequently. In case the heatwave persists, plans are in place to initiate online classes as an alternative measure.

The DSHE and related authorities are carefully weighing their options to ensure the continuity of education while prioritizing the health and safety of students amid challenging weather conditions.
