Cox's Bazar June 9,(V7N)- After serving long sentences in Myanmar's prisons, 45 Bangladeshis have returned to Bangladesh. They were brought back aboard the Bangladeshi ship Karnaphuli Tug-1 from a Myanmar Navy ship stationed in Myanmar's waters.

The ship anchored at the BIWTA dock in Nuniyarchara, Cox's Bazar, on Sunday morning (June 9). Joyful tears were visible in the eyes of their relatives.

Rasheda Akhtar, who came from Jaliapalong in Ukhia, said, "My son had been imprisoned in Myanmar for eleven months. He had illegally tried to reach Malaysia by sea. Today, my son has returned. I couldn't hold back my tears upon seeing his face."

Another relative, Belal Uddin, said, "Six of my relatives were detained together while trying to illegally go to Malaysia. They served long sentences in Myanmar's prisons. Later, the government brought them back. Our happiness knows no bounds. We feel so relieved."

Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi ship Karnaphuli Tug-1 will take 134 Myanmar Border Guard Police and army personnel, who are stationed on a Myanmar Navy ship, to be handed over to Myanmar. They will be returned to Myanmar via their ship.
