Suspect Siam Hossain has led police to bones found in the Bagjola canal, West Bengal, as reported by Indian media in connection with the murder of Jhenaidah MP Anwarul Azim Anar. Forensic tests are to be conducted to confirm if these bones are Anar's, according to Anandabazar.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal, along with divers from the Navy and Kolkata police, found several bones during a search based on Siam’s information. Anar, a three-time MP and Awami League leader, disappeared while in India for medical treatment and was later reported murdered.
Indian police and Bangladesh detective police have arrested several suspects, including Amanulla Sayeed, Tanvir Bhuiyan, Celesty Rahman, and Saiful Alam Molla Member. Shaheen, a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin, is alleged to be the mastermind behind the murder, with extremist leader Amanulla reportedly carrying out the killing. Investigations are ongoing, with forensic DNA tests to confirm the victim's identity.
