Matiur Rahman, president of the National Board of Revenue’s Customs, Excise, and VAT Appellate Tribunal, has been reassigned to the Internal Resources Division (IRD) of the Ministry of Finance amid controversy over his wealth.

This move follows public scrutiny after rumors surfaced about his son purchasing an expensive goat. Rahman denied these claims and insisted the individual in question is not related to him. The controversy has led to further examination of Rahman’s and his family’s assets.
