Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman stated that quota reform is now a judicial matter and warned that anyone attempting to disrupt law and order would be dealt with firmly.
"Everyone must adhere to the court's orders," he emphasized.
Speaking about security arrangements for the upcoming Tazia procession and Hussaini Dalan observance of Ashura, the DMP chief assured that all necessary measures had been implemented.
He urged participants not to bring knives, sharp objects, or flammable materials to the event and mentioned that searches had been conducted in surrounding areas for security purposes. "Our intelligence personnel are actively working on the ground," he added.
Reflecting on past attacks during Tazia processions, Habibur stated that the DMP had designed its security plans with such incidents in mind.
