A Dhaka court has granted bail to 2,350 individuals who were arrested on charges of sabotage related to the quota reform movement, filed with various police stations in the capital.

The bail was granted by the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Tuesday.

The individuals granted bail include leaders and activists from BNP, Jamaat, Shibir, their affiliated organizations, opposition leaders and activists, as well as students.

Court sources revealed that the president had ordered the release of those detained in several cases from July 1 to Monday. Following this, the lawyers of the accused filed for bail, which the court then approved.

For those without personal legal representation, Legal Aid provided assistance in securing bail.

Among those granted bail are BNP standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Andaleeve Rahman Partho of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, and Asif Mahtab, a former teacher at Brac University.
