Nobel laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus is arriving in Bangladesh on Thursday afternoon and is set to go directly to Bangabhaban from Dhaka airport.


Set to become the chief advisor of an interim government, Muhammad Yunus is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after 2pm.

The interim government is scheduled to take the oath of office later at 8:30pm.

The renowned economist left for Dhaka on Wednesday night.

A press release stated that he would arrive at the airport at 2:10pm from Dubai on an Emirates flight.

Sources indicate that he will go directly to Bangabhaban upon arrival, where he will rest and take the oath in the evening.

In a press release from the Yunus Centre, the Nobel laureate urged all students, political party members and non-political individuals to remain calm and refrain from all forms of violence.

He congratulated the brave students, saying they had led the way to make this “our second Victory Day” possible.

He also congratulated the public for their wholehearted support of the movement.
