The newly formed interim government of Bangladesh will be led by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel laureate. The Cabinet Division has confirmed the appointment of 16 advisors to serve alongside him.

Among the advisors, environmental attorney Syeda Rezwana Hasan and human rights activist Farida Akhtar have both confirmed their roles in the interim government to The Business Standard.

Additionally, two coordinators of the student movement, Md Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, have also been included in the interim administration.

The other 12 members of the interim government are as follows:

  11. Sharmeen Murshid
  12. Farooqui Azam

On August 7, Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman announced that the interim government, under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, is set to take the oath of office at 8:00 PM today.

Responding to inquiries about the number of members in the interim government, General Waker-uz-Zaman mentioned that the government would initially consist of 15 members, but this number may change.
