At least five individuals were injured, including three who were reportedly shot, when assailants opened fire during a protest outside the Islami Bank PLC head office in Dhaka on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Dilkusha, Motijheel, where employees of the bank were protesting against a recent wave of robberies and looting. The injured have been identified as Shafiullah, Mamun, Abdur Rahman, and Baki Billah, all employees of the bank.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers fired into the crowd before fleeing the scene. Tensions have been high within Islami Bank's private sector since August 6, when the bank reopened under new management following the change in government, with Jamaat-e-Islami regaining control of the institution.
