Bangladesh's National Emergency Service 999 resumed operations on Tuesday after an eight-day hiatus.

The Police Headquarters' media division confirmed that the service had been non-operational since August 5 due to the unavailability of police personnel. With the return of the police members, the 999 service, which provides ambulance, police, fire, and crime-related assistance, is now back online.

The service is crucial for providing immediate help to those in danger, with the nearest police station responding based on the information provided by the caller.
