Gazipur, August 20-- Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Additional Deputy Commissioner Jisanul Haque has been reinstated following the revocation of his temporary suspension. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification, signed by Senior Secretary Mohammad Abdul Momen, stating that Haque’s temporary dismissal has been rescinded in accordance with Bangladesh Service Rules. As a result, Haque will be considered to have been on duty during his suspension period and will receive arrears as per regulations.

Haque’s suspension had been recommended by the Public Security Department on June 19 due to allegations related to disclosing personal information about former influential police officer Asaduzzaman Mia. Mia, who served as the DMP Commissioner from 2015 to 2019 and later as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Security Cell at the Prime Minister’s Office, was under scrutiny by the anti-corruption commission for suspected illegal assets before the government’s fall.

The initial suspension order, signed by then Secretary Jahangir Alam, was based on preliminary findings of misconduct. However, the recent notification restores Haque’s status and entitlements, marking a reversal of the earlier disciplinary action.
