Dhaka, Aug 21 (V7N): The Bangladesh Army has issued a warning to the public about fraudulent activities involving searches and extortion attempts conducted by individuals impersonating army personnel.

According to an ISPR press release, it has been observed that certain individuals, dressed in civilian attire and falsely claiming to be members of the Bangladesh Army, have been conducting searches at government and corporate offices, residential areas, shopping malls, and shops. These individuals have also attempted to extort people via phone calls.

The release clarified that the Bangladesh Army does not conduct such raids in civilian clothing without the involvement of other law enforcement agencies.

The Army has urged citizens to remain vigilant and not fall victim to these scams, requesting full cooperation from the public to improve the law and order situation.
