Dhaka, August 25 – The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces have undergone a significant reshuffle at the top levels, with the transfer of 9 Deputy Director Generals (DDGs) and 10 Directors to new posts. The announcement was made on Sunday through a notification signed by Fauzia Khan, Deputy Secretary of Ansar Branch-1, Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs, following an order from the President. 

The reshuffle is part of an ongoing effort to optimize the force's management and operational efficiency across different regions. The transfers took immediate effect, according to the notification.

Among the key changes, Nurul Hasan Faridi, previously serving as the Deputy Commander of the Ansar Academy, has been transferred to the Khulna Range. Saifullah Russell, who was the DDG of the Chittagong Range, has been reassigned to the Headquarters in the Operations division. Shah Ahmad Fazle Rabbi, formerly the DDG of the Khulna Range, is now in charge of the Rajshahi Range. In another significant move, Mohammad Abdul Awal, who was the DDG of Sylhet, has been transferred to the Mymensingh Range, while Kamrun Nahar from the Rajshahi Range has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Ansar Academy.

Other notable transfers include Fakhrul Alam, the former DDG of Headquarters Operations, who is now posted to the Barisal Range; Saifur Rahman from the Mymensingh Range, reassigned to the Chittagong Range; Ashraful Alam, previously of the Barisal Range, now in charge of the Dhaka Range; and Ziaul Hasan, who moves from the Dhaka Range to oversee the Sylhet Range.

The reshuffle also saw changes among the Directors of various divisions. Mohammad Amin Uddin, who was the Director of VDP (Training) at the Headquarters, has been assigned to Khagrachari Dighinala Jamtla 17 Ansar Battalion. Md. Ahsan Ullah, previously Director (Integration) at Headquarters, is now at Thakurgaon 39 Ansar Battalion. In a move to strengthen the central administration, Mohammad Saifuzzaman, who was serving in Rangamati Kaptai Shilchari, has been brought back to Headquarters as Director (Operations).

Additional changes involve Syed Iftehar Ali, who moves from Headquarters to lead Rangamati Kaptai Shilchari 35 Ansar Battalion; Muhammad Noore Alam Siddiqui, reassigned from Bandarban Lama Champatali to Headquarters; Taskin Arak, who was Director (Project-Training), now transferred to Safipur Ansar and VDP Academy, Gazipur; and Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, previously Director of Safipur Ansar and VDP, Gazipur, now serving as the Director of Barisal Range. 

Jahanara Akhtar, previously the Director of Administration at Headquarters, has been posted to Safipur Ansar and VDP, Gazipur. Fatema-Tuz-Zohra, previously stationed at Khagrachari Dighinala Jamtala, is now the Director (VDP-Training) at Headquarters. Moon Moon Sultana, who was at Rangamati Ghagra, has been reassigned to Headquarters as Director (Administration).

The Ministry of Home Affairs stated that these transfers are in the public interest, aiming to enhance the operational capabilities and administrative efficiency of the Ansar and Village Defense Forces across Bangladesh. The reshuffle is expected to bring new dynamism to the force’s regional operations and contribute to its broader strategic goals.
