Dhaka, Sep 04 (V7N) — Education and Planning Adviser Wahid Uddin Mahmud called on government officials to serve the people with honesty and dedication, emphasizing the importance of accountability in their duties. He made these remarks during the certificate distribution and closing ceremony of the 76th Basic Training Course at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) in Savar on Wednesday.

Addressing the newly trained officials, Adviser Mahmud highlighted the government's commitment to equal rights as a foundation for national progress, a principle that emerged from the recent student-led movement. He urged the officials to remain steadfast in their responsibilities, stressing that the country can only advance if accountability is firmly established in all sectors.

"Corruption has become widespread in various sectors across the country," Mahmud stated, calling on all officials to adopt a strict stance against corrupt practices. He further emphasized the need for an effective administration, urging everyone to contribute to its creation by fulfilling their roles with integrity and transparency.

The ceremony at BPATC marked the conclusion of an essential phase of training for the new cadre of government officials, who are now expected to carry forward the principles of accountability and integrity in their respective roles within the administration.
