Case Filed Against 90, Including Mashrafe Mortaza, Over Alleged Attack on Students During Protest.
Narail, Sep 11 (V7N) - A case has been filed against 90 individuals, including former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, on charges of attacking students and civilians during the anti-discrimination student movement.
The case was lodged by Sheikh Mostafa Al-Muzahidur Rahman Palash at Narail Sadar Police Station on Tuesday night, as confirmed by Saiful Islam, the officer-in-charge of the station.
Golam Mortaza Swapan, Mashrafe's father, is among the accused.
According to the case statement, on August 4, during the quota reform movement, Mashrafe, his father, and others allegedly armed with sharp weapons and firearms organized a rally at Narail intersection. When a student procession demanding the resignation of Sheikh Hasina approached Russel Setu, the accused allegedly launched an attack, firing gunshots and injuring several protesters.
