Chandpur, Sep 11 (V7N) – Two lecturers from Chandpur University of Science and Technology (Chabiprabi) have been expelled for allegedly breaching university discipline. The decision was made by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Nashim Akhtar, and Registrar Abdul Hai, who signed the dismissal letters on Monday.

The dismissed teachers are Prince Mahmud, a lecturer in the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department, and Nazim Uddin, a lecturer in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department.

The Vice-Chancellor, currently in hiding, stated to Ekatar that the two teachers had been spreading misinformation about him on social media, which he claimed violated university laws. "They were misleading students by making jokes about me, which is against the university's regulations," the Vice-Chancellor explained.

He also noted that while the Ministry of Education has issued a directive not to force any teacher to resign, the dismissal was necessary as the two teachers had broken university rules.

In response, Mahmud and Nazim have called the decision unfair and stated that they intend to contact the university's registrar for clarification. "We have been treated unjustly, which is unacceptable," they said.

A source within the university confirmed that both the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar have been in hiding since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5. Students have accused them of opposing the recent student movement and have held protests on campus demanding their resignation. As a result of their absence, university operations have been halted.

The source also mentioned that the two dismissed teachers are known for their support of the Awami League.
