Dhaka, Sep 14 (V7N) – The office of the Chief Adviser of the interim government has issued a strong condemnation of recent attacks on mazars and Sufi shrines. The government has vowed to bring those responsible to justice.

In a press statement released today, the Chief Adviser’s office noted, "We have observed that a group of miscreants has been targeting Sufi shrines and mazars across the country in recent days."

The statement continued, “The interim government denounces in the strongest possible terms any form of hate speech and attacks on religious and cultural sites, including Sufi shrines.”

It further emphasized that the government is committed to holding the perpetrators accountable and pursuing rigorous legal actions against them. Instructions have been given to law enforcement agencies to implement sufficient measures to safeguard religious and cultural sites.

Bangladesh has long been known for its communal harmony and peaceful coexistence among its diverse religious communities. The statement concluded, "We assert unequivocally that we will continue to be a nation of harmony. Any efforts to disrupt religious or cultural tolerance will be met with strong and impartial action."
