Jhalakathi, July 11 (V7N) – To ensure free, fair, neutral, and peaceful upcoming national parliamentary elections, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami conducted a public outreach and leaflet distribution campaign in Rajapur upazila, Jhalakathi. The program was held on the afternoon of July 10 at various key locations, including Rajapur bypass, led by district and upazila level Jamaat leaders.
 
During the campaign, leaflets were distributed among the general public, calling for participation in the national assembly and highlighting seven demands:
 
Guarantee a level playing field for all political parties.
 
Complete justice for all past mass killings, including those in July.
 
Implement necessary fundamental political reforms.
 
Enforce the July Charter and declarations.
 
Ensure rehabilitation for families of martyrs and injured from the July uprising.
 
Conduct national elections through proportional representation (PR) system.
 
Guarantee voting rights for over one million expatriate voters.
 
The national assembly, announced by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 2 PM at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka. The event will be chaired by the party’s Amir, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, with speeches from Jamaat and other national leaders.
 
District Jamaat officials said, “This national assembly will be a crucial milestone for protecting the country’s democratic future and securing the people’s voting rights. A large number of leaders and supporters from Rajapur will participate in the event.”
