Dhaka, Sep 15 (V7N) – A high-level US delegation met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today at the State Guest House Jamuna in Dhaka. The meeting, which started at 11am, marked the first engagement between the interim government and the United States since Yunus assumed office on August 8.

The delegation, led by Brent Neiman, Deputy Undersecretary at the US Department of Treasury, arrived in Bangladesh yesterday. The US Embassy later shared on Facebook that the United States is committed to supporting Bangladesh's efforts toward inclusive economic growth, institution building, and overall development.

“As Bangladesh works towards a more equitable and inclusive future, the US stands ready to support those efforts,” the post read.

Other key members of the delegation include US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu, along with representatives from the US Department of the Treasury, USAID, and the Office of the US Trade Representative.
