The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has announced its elected leadership for the tenure of 2024-2026, with SM Mannan Kochi being nominated as the president of the trade body.
The selection, made by the elected directors of BGMEA, also includes Syed Nazrul Islam as the first vice-president and Khandoker Rafiqul Islam as the senior vice-president.
In addition to the top leadership positions, the newly formed board of directors has named five other vice-presidents: Arshad Jamal (Dipu), Md Nasir Uddin, Miran Ali, Abdullah Hil Rakib, and Rakibul Alam Chowdhury.
The recent BGMEA election, conducted simultaneously in Dhaka and Chattogram on March 9, witnessed a sweeping victory for the Sammilito Parishad, led by SM Mannan Kochi, securing all 35 directorial positions.
SM Mannan Kochi expressed gratitude to the BGMEA members for their trust and support, pledging to work tirelessly for the betterment of the garment industry in Bangladesh. Kochi emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation to address the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.
