On Sunday marks the start of the 28th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF), which is located in Purbachal, 16.6 kilometers east of the metropolis.

The month-long celebration will be opened by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Similar to the previous year, the DITF will take place in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BBCFEC) in Purbachal, according to AHM Ahsan, vice-chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

From January 21 until February 20, the fair will remain open. Since 1995, trade shows have been organized by the EPB and the Ministry of Commerce.

Typically, the DITF starts on January 1st of every year. The 12th national elections, however, forced the EPB to postpone the fair.

The trade show will be open everyday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on weekends until 10 p.m. Adult admission is Tk 40, while children's admission is Tk 20.

For the convenience of public visitors, BRTC buses have been scheduled from Farmgate and Kuril Biswa Road to the fair premises.

There are going to be 330 stalls in total, 23 pavilions, and 27 micro pavilions.

Additionally, there will be fifteen food stands in various categories. Local and international businesses will exhibit their wares as usual.
