Dhaka, Sep 11 (V7N)- The government has created a 12-member taskforce to reshape its development strategies, aiming for equitable and sustainable growth. The taskforce, titled "Re-strategising the Economy and Mobilising Resources for Equitable and Sustainable Development," will be chaired by Dr. KAS Murshid, former director general of the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS).

As per the Planning Division’s circular, this taskforce is tasked with formulating strategies that promote non-discriminatory and sustainable development. A comprehensive report outlining these strategies is expected to be completed within the next three months, laying the groundwork for a fair and dynamic economy.

The taskforce may include additional members as needed, with the General Economics Division (GED) member of the Planning Commission acting as the member secretary.

The current members include former World Bank official Akhtar Mahmood, Dhaka University Economics Professor Dr. Selim Raihan, former head of the Commonwealth Secretariat's research department Dr. Abdur Razzak, Yale University Economics Professor Dr. Mushfiq Mobarak, BUET Professor Dr. Shamsul Haque, Dhaka University Economics Professor Dr. Rumana Huque, former MCCI President Nasim Manzoor, BIDS Research Director Dr. Monzur Ahmed, CPD Executive Director Dr. Fahmida Khatun, BDjobs CEO AKM Fahim Mashrur, and Planning Commission GED member Dr. Md. Kawser Ahmed.
