A fire broke out in the Jhilpar slum of Mirpur-12 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Monday noon.

Around 12:57 p.m., one of the shanties in the slum was the source of the fire, according to Lima Khanam, the duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell.

On information, four fighting units rushed to the spot and were trying to bring the flame under control and then four more units joined them.


According to the duty officer, as of 1:30 pm, no casualties had been recorded, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
