Dhaka, June 7 (V7N) — Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Ejaz has announced that 85% of the waste generated from sacrificial animals has already been removed, with the cleanup efforts still ongoing.

He made the remarks while speaking to reporters at DNCC Nagar Bhaban on Saturday night, amid the Eid-ul-Azha celebrations.

"The people of Dhaka have shown remarkable responsibility. The sacrifice is still ongoing, and our cleaning teams are working continuously. We will carry on with the waste removal operations tomorrow and the day after. The main roads will be cleaned tomorrow," said Mohammad Ejaz.

He further noted that there is currently no visible dirt in DNCC areas, and any new waste from ongoing sacrifices will be promptly removed.

Earlier, both Dhaka city corporations had committed to clearing all sacrificial waste within 12 hours. Nearly 20,000 sanitation workers have been deployed across DNCC and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas to manage the massive cleanup effort.
