Dhaka, Sep 30 (V7N) – The monsoon remains fairly active across Bangladesh due to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, extending into Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and parts of northern Bangladesh, including Assam. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in various parts of the country over the next three days, with temperatures remaining largely unchanged.

According to the latest 72-hour weather forecast issued at 9 am, light to moderate rain, accompanied by gusty winds and thundershowers, is expected across Mymensingh, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions from Monday morning. Dhaka division, as well as parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna divisions, may also experience scattered showers. Some areas may see moderate to heavy rainfall.

On Tuesday, widespread rainfall is expected in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions, while other regions, including Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Khulna, may experience lighter showers. Despite the rain, night temperatures are predicted to remain stable, although daytime temperatures may see a slight decrease.

By Wednesday, rain with gusty winds is forecast across most divisions, including Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Dhaka. Some areas could experience moderate to very heavy rainfall, with temperatures expected to drop by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius across the country.

Looking ahead, the extended five-day forecast suggests that the current rainfall trend may ease slightly after mid-week.
