Dhaka, Dec 01 (V7N) – Cyclone Fengal, which developed over the Bay of Bengal, crossed the Tamil Nadu coast in India on Saturday night and has since weakened into a deep depression. It is now positioned over northern Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas.

As a result of the storm's impact, sea conditions remain rough, leading authorities in Bangladesh to continue hoisting the No. 2 remote warning signal at the seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra.

According to the latest weather bulletin, Cyclone Fengal has moved west-southwestward, weakening further into a deep depression. It is expected to continue its westward trajectory.

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay and the deep sea have been advised to stay close to the coast and exercise caution until further notice.

The forecast for Sunday indicates light rain in a few locations across Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions. Other regions are expected to experience mostly dry weather with a partly cloudy sky. Nighttime temperatures may rise slightly, while daytime temperatures are likely to dip slightly across the country.
