Dhaka, Jan 09 (V7N) — A mild cold wave has begun to affect several districts, including Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Panchagarh, and Chuadanga, with the possibility of spreading further in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Office's weather forecast for the next 24 hours starting at 9 am on Thursday, night temperatures across the country may decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, while day temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

The weather across the country is expected to remain dry, with temporarily partly cloudy skies. However, moderate to dense fog may develop across the country from midnight to the morning.

The synoptic weather report indicates that the subcontinental high-pressure area is extending over West Bengal and its adjacent areas. The seasonal low-pressure area is located in the south Bay of Bengal, with its extension stretching towards the north Bay of Bengal.

The highest temperature recorded in the country on Wednesday was 28.6 degrees Celsius in Teknaf, while the lowest temperature on Thursday morning was 9.1 degrees Celsius in Badalgachhi, Rajshahi.

In Dhaka, the wind speed was recorded at 6-12 kilometers per hour from the north and northwest. The relative humidity of the air in Dhaka was 82 percent at 6 am.
