Dhaka, Apr 18 (V7N)- Dhaka and its surrounding regions may experience temporary gusty or stormy winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its latest forecast issued on Friday morning.
According to the 6-hour weather forecast from 7 AM, a slight drop in day temperatures is also likely in the capital and nearby areas due to the changing weather pattern.
The Met Office noted that an extension of a low-pressure area has formed over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while the seasonal low lies over the South Bay of Bengal.
In its 24-hour forecast from 9 AM on Friday, the BMD said that light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with lightning and temporary gusty winds are expected in many places across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
Some areas may witness moderate to heavy rainfall, the forecast added.
Despite the rain, day and night temperatures across the country are likely to remain nearly unchanged.
The weather bulletin advised citizens to remain cautious, particularly in areas prone to lightning strikes and flash flooding due to sudden downpours.
