Dhaka, Oct 04 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has warned that winds with speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour may sweep across eight regions of the country by Saturday noon.

According to the weather forecast for inland river ports valid till 1 p.m., temporary gusty or squally winds from the south/southeast at speeds of 45–60 kmph may occur over Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet regions. River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.

In addition, the 24-hour weather forecast from 6 p.m. Friday indicated that light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds is likely in most parts of Rangpur Division, and in many places across Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet Divisions. Some areas may experience heavy rainfall, the Met Office added.
