According to a release from the meteorological office, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur at one or two places in five north and southern divisions, including the capital, in the next 24 hours starting from 9 am today.

The affected divisions include Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram, with the weather expected to remain mainly dry elsewhere in the country, with temporary partly cloudy skies.

The weather pattern is influenced by a trough of westerly low lying over West Bengal and adjoining areas, along with a seasonal low in the South Bay.

The maximum temperature recorded on Tuesday was 36.0 degrees Celsius in Rangamati, while the minimum temperature today was 18.0 degrees Celsius in Sylhet. The maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours until 6 am today was recorded at 11 millimeters in Rangpur.

Expectations are for a slight rise in day temperature by (1-2) degrees Celsius and a slight increase in night temperature. The sun is expected to set today at 06:12 PM and rise tomorrow at 05:54 AM in the capital.
