Ukhiya, Aug 26 (V7N) - As part of a three-day international conference titled "Stakeholders' Dialogue: Takeaway to the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Situation," held in Cox's Bazar, delegates from over 40 countries, along with Bangladeshi political leaders, visited multiple Rohingya camps in Ukhiya on Tuesday morning.

Divided into two groups, the delegates toured a range of facilities operated by international and local NGOs within the camps. These included nutrition centers, food distribution outlets, health clinics, and skill development centers for Rohingya women.

One of the key locations visited was the WFP e-voucher outlet in Camp 4, which facilitates food distribution through a digital system, ensuring transparency and efficiency. The delegation then visited Friendship Hospital near the Balukhali camp, where they observed healthcare services being provided to the refugee population.

The delegates also spent time at a handicrafts and vocational training center for Rohingya women. There, they engaged in extended conversations, listening to the women’s experiences, challenges, and aspirations. The visits offered the delegates firsthand insight into the living conditions and needs of the displaced Rohingya population, many of whom fled persecution by Myanmar's military regime in Rakhine State.

The camp visits marked the conclusion of the three-day international conference that began on Sunday. The conference aimed to strengthen global cooperation and identify actionable steps for a sustainable and humane solution to the ongoing Rohingya crisis.

According to organizers, the stakeholder dialogue served as a preparatory step for upcoming global discussions on refugee rights and international responsibilities related to the Rohingya situation. Delegates expressed solidarity with the Rohingya and praised Bangladesh’s continued humanitarian support, while also calling for renewed international commitment toward repatriation, justice, and long-term solutions.
