The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a forecast indicating the likelihood of a nor’wester hitting parts of Bangladesh, including Dhaka.

As per a bulletin from the BMD, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds are expected to affect Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions over the next 72 hours starting from 4 pm on Sunday. During this period, isolated places may experience lightning, hail, and nor’wester storms.

This forecast comes amidst an ongoing heatwave across the country, prompting the BMD to issue a country-wide heat alert message for the next 48 hours beginning at 6 pm on Friday.
