Dhaka, June 26 (V7N) – Light rain is likely in Dhaka and surrounding areas today, accompanied by partly cloudy skies and light to moderate winds, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). This weather may lead to a slight drop in daytime temperatures.
In its six-hour forecast issued at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, the BMD reported that winds from the south and southeast are expected to blow at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour.
As of 6:00 a.m. today, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 28.6°C with 82% relative humidity. On Tuesday, the capital’s maximum temperature was 35.1°C, while the minimum was 28.2°C. A trace amount of rainfall was recorded over the past 24 hours.
The BMD also forecast moderate to heavy rainfall in three divisions—Mymensingh, Chattogram, and Sylhet—as well as thunderstorms with rain across much of the country. Thunderstorms and temporary gusty winds are expected in many areas of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions.
Isolated areas across the country may experience moderate to heavy rainfall, the department added.
Both day and night temperatures are expected to fall slightly throughout the country as the monsoon pattern continues to influence regional weather conditions.
