He said that the number 10 emergency signal has been given in Khulna.  The sky is cloudy since morning.  A strong wind is blowing.  Rain will start from noon.  Remal will hit the coast in the evening.  The rain will increase during this time.  Wind speed can reach 110 to 120 kmph. 
 
Meanwhile, the Khulna district administration has made all kinds of preparations to deal with Cyclone Remal.  604 shelters have been prepared.  Besides, 3 Mujib Killas and 5 thousand volunteers are ready.  3 lakh 15 thousand people can live in these shelters.  30 fire service teams are ready in Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira.  The control room has been opened. 
 
Khulna Deputy Commissioner Khandkar Yasir Arefin said that 604 cyclone shelters have been prepared to deal with cyclones.  So that vulnerable people can take shelter there according to the situation.  A total of 3 lakh 15 thousand 180 people can take shelter in these cyclone shelters.  Besides, 430 people can be sheltered and 560 cattle can be kept in 3 Mujib Qillas.  5 thousand 280 volunteers are ready in Koira, Dakop and Paikgacha upazilas. 
 
Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Khulna Mamun Mahmud said, 30 teams from Khulna, Satkhira and Bagerhat have started working from 6 am on Saturday to deal with Cyclone Remal.  Among them there are 14 fire stations in Khulna.  Among which there is a river fire station.  Besides, teams of 10 fire stations in Bagerhat and 6 in Satkhira are working.  The team members will do all the work including rescue, provision of clean food and water, bringing them safely to shelters besides making people aware.  Both water and land fire service teams and all equipment are kept ready.  A special team of 20 members has been kept on standby at the Khulna headquarters.  Monitoring cell has been opened.
