Dhaka, Aug 30 (V7N): The water levels of all major rivers across Bangladesh have receded to below the danger level. The Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre reported that the Brahmaputra-Jamuna and Padma rivers are seeing a decline in water levels, which is expected to continue over the next 48 hours.

Similarly, the northern rivers, including the Teesta, Dharla, and Dudhkumar, are also experiencing a reduction in water levels and are anticipated to maintain a normal flow during the same period.

The northeastern and eastern regions of the country, encompassing rivers such as the Manu, are also witnessing a decrease in water levels.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has indicated that there is no forecast of heavy rainfall in the northeastern and eastern regions, nor in the upstream areas, over the next 48 hours. This suggests that rivers like the Surma, Kushiyara, Manu, Khowai, Feni, Muhuri, Gumti, and Titas will likely see further decreases and continue to flow below the danger level.

Similarly, the water levels in the southeastern rivers are beginning to recede. Meteorological data show no heavy rainfall is expected in this region and the adjoining upstream areas in the coming 48 hours. As a result, rivers such as the Sangu, Matamuhuri, Karnaphuli, Halda, and others are expected to see a further drop in water levels.
