Dhaka, Sep 21 (V7N)— The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning for six regions of the country, forecasting gusty winds of up to 60 kmph by this evening. River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist warning signal number 1.
Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque provided the forecast on Saturday, cautioning that the affected regions are likely to experience temporary gusty winds accompanied by rain or thundershowers. The areas at risk include Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, and Chittagong. The warning is in effect until 6:00 PM today.
In addition to this immediate forecast, the Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours for several parts of the country. This includes the divisions of Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong, as well as parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet. There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in some regions.
Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain largely unchanged.
