Dhaka, Sep 29 (V7N): The High Court has directed the submission of a comprehensive list of properties owned by S Alam Group and its family members, both within the country and abroad. The court has ordered the relevant parties, including the law secretary, to comply with this directive within the next four weeks.

The order was issued by a High Court bench, consisting of Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah and Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque, after a hearing related to the writ petition on Sunday.

Md Rukunuzzaman, the lawyer representing the petitioner, advocated for the writ in court.

The writ petition had previously been filed, seeking a full inventory of all assets held by S Alam Group, its shareholder directors, and their family members. The petition also sought a court injunction on the sale or transfer of these assets.

Additionally, the petition called for detailed information regarding all loans obtained by S Alam Group from various financial institutions, along with the current status of these loans and liabilities. It further requested a list of any assets transferred overseas and an order to seize the group's properties.

A travel ban for the company's directors and their family members without court approval was also included in the petition.

On September 11, the petitioner’s lawyer sent legal notices to several authorities, including the governor of Bangladesh Bank, the finance secretary, the law secretary, and the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), requesting information on the total amount of loans taken by S Alam Group’s shareholders and directors. These notices also sought details of the current status of these loans and liabilities.

However, after receiving no responses, the lawyer proceeded to file the writ with the High Court.
