Dhaka, Jan 11 (V7N) — A High Court bench will now accept all slips through WhatsApp every Sunday.
The system has been implemented in the bench comprising Justice Md Ashraful Kamal and Justice Kazi Emdadul Islam.
The information was revealed on Saturday by sources from the concerned bench.
Md Moniruzzaman, Assistant Bench Officer of the court, said that slips for motions, time extensions, and applications must be scanned and sent to WhatsApp number 01731840311 between 10am and 1pm.
This facility is available during court hours for the convenience of lawyers.
According to a notice issued on the matter, no slips will be accepted in the courtroom.
Instead, all slips must be submitted through WhatsApp on Sundays.
Mention slips must include the advocate’s ID number and mobile number.
Lawyers traditionally mention slips for motions, time extensions, and applications sequentially in the courtroom once the bench begins proceedings.
This new system is seen as a positive and modern initiative.
